The San Diego Solar Equity Program, sponsored by San Diego Gas & Electric® (SDG&E®), is designed to enable income-qualified homeowners who live within the City of San Diego to install rooftop solar and enjoy the benefits of clean energy and energy savings.

This program is established under the franchise Energy Cooperation Agreement between SDG&E and the City of San Diego, specifically for customers who have historically been unable to access solar technology.

About the San Diego Solar Equity Program

The San Diego Solar Equity Program (SDSEP) is a 10-year incentive program funded by San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) shareholder funds as part of the City of San Diego’s franchise agreement with SDG&E. The program allocates a total of $10 million, $1 million per year, to provide eligible, income-qualifying customers with monetary assistance to install solar panels on their homes.
